British designer Vivienne West does NOT love New York: ‘Stuck up and self-important’

Celebrity

Ever eclectic British designer Vivienne Westwood recently opened her boutique in LA on Melrose Avenue.

She had a blast in LA, at the exciting store opening and at her dinner party at the famous Chateau Marmont in Hollywood with celebs such as Mad Men star Christina Hendricks, Marilyn Manson, Dita von Teese, Malin Akermann, Anna Kendrick, Kristin Davis, Heidi Klum and Zoe Saldana.

And it turns out there’s a very good reason why she didn’t open her boutique in New York.

“New York people are a bit stuck up and self important, and think that just the fact that they live in New York makes them better than anybody else,” she told W magazine.

“Sometimes there, you feel trapped by the concrete, and for me that means being trapped by the myth of Superman and American foreign policy and all these dreadful things that have done so much harm in the world. There’s just so much pressure there; it’s not nice.”

Do you agree with Vivienne?
