Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Rihanna on ‘Songs for Japan’ album

Boy, that little Justin Bieber is really becoming quite the prankster.

Here’s the video of him pranking Willow Smith during her “Whip My Hair” song. And below is his impromptu prank appearance at Johnny Depp‘s Rango press conference in February. After Justin left, Johnny Depp asked the roomful of press peeps, “Aren’t we all Beliebers now?”

Guess JB has hit his pranking stage, along with his dating Selena Gomez phase and his cutting off his infamous hair phase. But he’s also hit his admirable help others phase. Justin, Rihanna, Madonna, and Lady Gaga are among the thirty eight artists putting together a Songs for Japan album. Bravo, guys! We’re so buying this album.

Personalize funny videos and birthday eCards at JibJab!

See, now this is when it’s fun to have your own blog. When Paramount sent me the Justin Bieber Jib Jab link, I could not resist making my own music video with the Biebs.

After all, having been 3 feet away from Justin on Saturday at the Four Seasons when he crashed Johnny Depp’s Rango press junket, I now have a better appreciation of this talented teen. I even got a few seconds of Justin Bieber on my flip cam!

Plus, Johnny Depp said he is a Belieber and shall remain so. So who am I to question Bieber Fever? Time to join the fun. Go to Jib Jab and make your own Bieber video.

Johnny Depp rides into Westwood for Rango premiere.

Johnny Depp was dressed appropriately like a cowboy — even wearing a cowboy hat — at the premiere of his new animated western  Rango. Depp, who plays a chameleon with an identity crisis, didn’t arrive on horseback, rather a limo. Durn it. But instead of a red carpet, Paramount created a sandy desert scene, complete with cacti, tumbleweeds,  and weather-beaten shacks.

While Johnny signed autographs for hundreds of screaming fans outside the Regency Village Theatre, we talked with his Rango stars Abigail Breslin, Isla Fisher, James Ward Byrkit, who plays Waffles and a few other characters.  James revealed that director Gore Verbinski also did a few voices and so did the film’s production designer Crash McCreary.  And the film’s composer, Hans Zimmer, who has also scored all of Verbinski’s Pirates of the Caribbean movies, explained his western score. Sadly, no sign of Justin Bieber, who crashed the Rango junket on Saturday.

How to describe this film? It’s very hard to convey.  The words animated western don’t cut it.  First off, you have never seen an animated film that feels this real, thanks to the talented dudes at ILM, Animation Director Hal Hickel and Visual Effects Supervisor Tim Alexander, who added so much dirt and texture to the movie that you can literally taste the dust in your mouth. You may be picking tumbleweed out of your teeth, it feels that real. Watch these clips and see for yourself.

Justin Bieber crashes Johnny Depp’s junket: Part 2

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

Saturday afternoon, I posted a rogue video of Justin Bieber crashing Johnny Depp’s press conference for his new film, Rango. It was shot with my flip cam from my front row seat. Watch it here.

Now Paramount has released their official video of the historic Bieber and Depp handshake. And they have a much better view of the entire event than I did. Watch and Enjoy, Depp and Bieber fans.

Just before this happened, Johnny was asked by a reporter if he was a Belieber. Listen to his response here.

Justin Bieber, Johnny Depp shake hands: Universe still intact

At the tail end of Saturday’s Rango press conference with cinematic heart throb Johnny Depp, who walks in but the biggest pop star in the universe, Justin Bieber.

“Hey, man,” a surprised Depp said when he first spotted the Biebs walking towards him. Justin replied, “I’m a big fan of you so I want to support you. I  just wanted to say hi,” he added. “I heard you were in the building (the Four Seasons Hotel) .” Then he shook Johnny, Isla Fisher and Abigail Breslin‘s hands and knocked knuckles with director Gore Verbinski.

The Biebs turned to the room full of open-mouthed journalists. “What’s up everybody.” adding, “He (Depp) is a Belieber and I’m a big fan of his.”

Ironically, earlier in the press conference Johnny was asked if he was a ‘Belieber’ and he acted as if he had never heard the word before but found it hilarious. Click here to listen to that exchange. After Justin left, Johnny took to the mike and said, “Who is not a Belieber now?”

Astonishingly, with the electricity of these two major sex symbols in one room and actually touching each other, the universe did not implode.

BTW: Depp took his kids Jack, 9 and Lily Rose, 11, — who are big Beliebers — to see Bieber’s concert in Miami last December.

Now read on to find out about the lizard image in the video.
