Katie Holmes explained that whole Penis Gummy Candy business to Ellen DeGeneres today (March 31),

Seems those photos of her giving her young daughter Suri Cruise X-rated candies were not the whole story.

“Recently, I took [Suri] to get ice cream in New York at this place called Serendipity that we go to all the time. It’s for kids. The clientele is children,” who may not have an acting career left after the abysmal miniseries The Kennedys airs. “We go in and we are waiting for a table and she grabs some gummies that are boy part gummies. I was horrified. P-e-n-i-s gummies. I said, oh wow those aren’t Swedish fish. . . They are called p-e-n-i-s gummies and they look like it.”

Holmes explained more: “She was holding the box and I was like ‘OK, wow we don’t need that right now.’ Because I thought if I said ‘Put that back,’ and then she’s going to say, ‘What is this?’ And I really didn’t want to have that conversation.”

Does Armani make a line of children’s sunglasses?

If not, he sure should. Poor little Suri really needs a pair of designer shades to protect her adorable baby blues from annoying paparazzi flash bulbs.

Katie Holmes and her increasingly cute daughter Suri were caught on camera in New York this weekend.

Suri shouldn’t have to wear burkas like Michael Jackson‘s spawn do.

Some cool designer shades that match Mommy’s Armani’s might help prevent flashbulb fatigue. We could see Suri as the Armani brand ambassador too!

Katie Holmes becomes the new face of Ann Taylor

Too bad about “The Kennedys,” Katie Holmes first TV miniseries, not getting picked up by any networks. But here’s something to smile about.  Tom Cruise‘s wife, 32,  is the pretty new face of Ann Taylor, succeeding  supermodel Heidi Klum, in the retail store’s spring ads. Expect billboards in NY and LA. You won’t see the ads appearing in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire and Instyle until March. But here’s  sneak peek above.

“I applaud women who are doing their best to be the best versions of themselves and who are working really hard. And I’m glad that there is a store like Ann Taylor that can offer amazing styles for the many different roles that women play,” Holmes told WWD .

Used to be that if Katie Holmes was seen on a red carpet, she was wearing her old BFF (Best Fashion Friend) Giorgia Armani. End of story. After he dressed her wedding party, she owed the Italian designer big time.

But now Katie has finally broken the all-powerful Armani spell and she turned up at the “Lions for Lambs” New York premiere in a sleek one-shouldered black silk Monique Lhuillier gown.

Awww. Our little girl is growing up and stretching her fashion wings.

But here’s the real shocker! She’s wearing , gulp, flat dressy sandals  And suddenly Tom Cruise doesn’t look all that short.

Bet he’s totally loving that.
